Viva, Pit Señor! Cebuanos...

It was a cloudy fine morning; when I decided to watch the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2012; as it was already been planned early this month. I let my 2 brothers and 2 neighbors to come with me to watch the event.

We left home at around 10:30 in the morning, we able to attend the mass for 11:00 am in the Basilica del Sto. Niño de Cebu. After we had attended the mass, we had our lunch to a crispy chicken house in Sanciangko Str. beside Sogo Hotel. We had a great meal in the crispy chicken house that we had able to save also since the chicken slice they had was really that big that we are all contented of it. We had decided then to go to Osmeña Blvd. in front of Abellana National High School where some of the Sinulog items are sold.

I decided to buy 2 t-shirts, one for my brother who really like to have one and one for a friend whom I thought for a long time to gave here a gift when she will be back here in Cebu. We able to choose what design we wanted to have for the colored t-shirt that we chose. While waiting for the t-shirt, we listen to the music that was really awesome to hear since it about Cebu at its best. Though I've grown here in Cebu, I am not able to do this things way back when I was still in College since got no idea the events for sinulog.

So when we had already had the t-shirt with us we decided to go inside the Cebu Sports Complex for the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2012 that will be an annual compititon of the schools within the province of Cebu. This year, the competition had 17 schools from the different towns in the province.


Before the event was properly started there were two DJ's who entertained the people while waiting the participants, since the participants still having the street dancing from Cebu Capitol down to Osmeña Blvd. Str. then to Abellana Sports Complex or more known to be Cebu Sports Complex.

There were showdown between the s dance group finalist for the Sinulog Best Dance Crew 2012 in the stage while waiting for the proper opening. After the showdown , the mc's announce us to stand to have the opening of the competition since the participants are already been assembled inside the Sports Complex.

We got a fun and we're amaze of the show of the different participants of the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2012.  The competition was divided into 2 categories: elementary division and Secondary division.

The flow of the competition was really that great; we captured almost all the participants while they performed in the stage with their colorful and glamorous costumes and props. I mas say that the competition was a world class event. It really showcases the great history and tradition of Cebu.

The event was composed of 6 participants for the elementary division and 11 for the secondary division. This event will not be successful without the leaders of the Cebu City and Cebu province;
Gov. Gwen Garcia and Mayor Mike Rama were present in the event.

3rd: San Roque Elementary School, Talisay City (last year’s champion)
2nd: Tuyan Central Elementary School, Naga City, Cebu (first time to join)
1st: Danao City East District, Danao City Central School
Best in Costume: Danao City East District, Danao City Central School
Best in Musicality: Danao City East District, Danao City Central School

SECONDARY:
5th: Maslog National High School, Danao City
4th: Medellin National High School (first time to join)
3rd: Lawaan National High School, Talisay City
2nd: Toledo National Vocational School (last year’s 5th placer)
1st: Carcar City Division (defending champion)
Best in Costume: Carcar City Division
Best in Musicality: Carcar City Division
